KETCHUM, ID—Reggae in the Mountains, the greatest show on snow, was attended by over 600 in the Ketchum Town Square on Saturday, Feb. 1. Reggae lovers of all ages braved the frigid temperatures to enjoy the music of the opening nine-piece Bob Marley inspired band Sol Horizon from Sonoma County, Calif. followed by Sol Medic and ending with the nine-piece band Natural Roots from Salt Lake City.
This was the sixth year for Reggae in the Mountains in the winter to celebrate Bob Marley’s birthday and to bring cultural diversity in music to Ketchum, Idaho. Founder and organizer of Reggae in the Mountains, Danny Walton, has been producing events in Sun Valley for over ten years as well as Night Bocci World Championships and Stand Up Paddle board events to keep the mountain town vibe culture alive.
Reggae in the Mountains would like to thank all of its volunteers, concert goers, supporters and especially its sponsors: The City of Ketchum, Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch, Watkins Distributing, Starbucks, Atkinsons’ markets, Scott Featherstone, DDS, Johnny Gs Subshack, 5B Garage, Smith Optics, Lefty’s Bar and Grill, Mountain Khakis, Backwoods, Zenergy and Idahome.
