Get ready for Reggae in the Mountains
“The Greatest Show on Snow” presents an evening with Pato Banton

January 27, 2013, Ketchum, Idaho—Tickets are moving fast for Reggae in the Mountains featuring Pato Banton on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Simplot Lot across from the Ketchum Post Office presented by Mountain Niceness Productions. The show will kick off at 7 p.m. with opening bands to include Soulmedic, Mega Baton and Voice of Reason. Tickets are $20 until Feb. 2 and $25 at the gate. VIP, “Very Irie People,” access to Reggae in the Mountains VIP sponsor’s tent is $100.
Reggae in the Mountains is also a celebration for an incredible week of Nordic skiing, activities, education and fun at the 2013 Sun Valley Nordic Fest, January 26 through February 3. An after show at Whiskey Jacques’ in Ketchum will begin at 10:30 p.m. with full sets by Mega Banton from Jamaica, Soul Medic from Hawaii and California, Obie Won from Ohio, Lions Den Sound Unlimited from California and DJ Vision from California. Cover charge at Whiskey Jacques’ will be $8.
“I love music and reaching people with music,” said Banton. “I am committed to what I do, and the message I send out. My connection to people and fans is what makes me a good artist. It’s my passion.”
Born and raised in the U.K., Banton has many Jamaican influences in his career that spans three decades yet Banton also brings his love and experience with
some of his British brethern to his music including UB40, Steel Pulse and The English Beat.
“I think because of where I grew up, I had a bit of a struggle to find my niche and respect as an English artist,” said Banton. “I do my own thing.”
Pato Banton and The Now Generation are making their way across the country spreading the “Good News” and uplifting the masses with a warm message of love and positivity that Banton has been known for bringing to his audiences around the world.
